Winter Wonderland

To challenge myself even more, i thought it would be cool to make a winter wonderland cake… with lights!!

It’s actually quite small but due to all the detail, it actually took me a very long time. I used Rice Paper for the windows so you couldn’t see the lights inside which were wireless.

Mad Hatter Cake

I created a Alice in Wonderland style Mad Hatter cake for a very bubbly and fun woman’s 60th Birthday. She asked for a decadent cake that would go with her Red, Black and Silver themed party. She wanted something that would depict her personality and we decided a Red Velvet Mad Hatter Cake would be perfect!

I started by making 6 red velvet cakes and realised I needed another for the base so it could hold up the rest of the cake. I could have done another Red Velvet layer but I thought that my client may like a surprise taste in the middle. I put in a ‘Confetti’ style middle for the base which I thought would set off the taste of the Icing and the Red Velvet.

Once I had constructed the mad hatter cake, it was time to decorate!

I used alternating black and white buttercream icing with fondant and Marizpan accents for the decoration. Image

Happy Birthday

My client for this cake was a girly girl who wanted something sweet and delicious to bring her birthday in. She also wanted it to look slightly different than a normal cake so after our consultation we decided that a two layer cake with cake balls all around would be perfect for her.
